Evdoxia Fasoula, forensic document examiner & graphologist, spoke to the Street Painting Team on the occasion of the presentation of the URBAN Graphemes photographic / graphical album

Ευδοξία Ζ. Φασούλα
We met Evdoxia Fasoula in the publishing house ¨Perispomeni'' to talk about this multi-dimensional URBAN Graphemes album.

In our question , where inspiration came from to materialize URBAN Graphemes, the creator has a very interesting story to tell us?!

Street Art: Dimitrios Koletsis
Approximately 20 years ago, she was called to analyze and find out who had come up with an abusive message written with a spray on the car of the school's manager. The aim was to prove, on her own side ,the innocence of the accused child. With only the writing element on the car, the alleged as an offender managed to prove his innocence.

URBAN Graphemes
She said to us: Through this experience and as I was in the first steps on this profession, I wanted to construct knowledge of which elements remain individualized, whether we write on a paper or some wall, or paint with spray.

After a meeting with Italian professors at the University of Urbino in Italy, (in whichs he studied graphology), we wanted to analyze the Grafomania phenomenon.

URBAN Graphemes

In 2012 where the idea started, I try to trace all the demonstration of written activity in the cities. The slogans and the murals. Everything is handwritten in Urban Landscape.
I participated and continue to participate in the initiative of sociologist Konstantinou Konstantina, who created a team at the Crime Study Center for the Study and Promotion of Street Art entitled "THE STREET ART PROJECT".

Promo Street Art Urban Graphemes , Athens 20/12/2018.

Street Art Project is an attempt to bring a little bit of people's eye to graffiti and that it has not only a devastating effect. There are many manifestations that can be a border line in terms of legality, however, social tolerance has increased. Street Art Project joins many specialties, as other social scientists, such as psychologists, participate in the group. So, to help change what is considered a delinquent phenomenon to many people, it can also be seen as Crime Preventative.
We can beautify a neighborhood, increase social participation, and so to reduce crime.

URBAN Graphemes
In Greece since ancient times we are writers, it diffuses historically the place. In a way Epigraphia itself was born here. The increase in the phenomenon is probably due to the weakening of the bourgeoisie and to an external degrading effect on the city. There are areas where the phenomenon is more intense, there is a chaotic expression, without any codes being observed among the creators

URBAN Graphemes
URBAN Graphemes is addressed to the general public and is not strictly given in an Academic way. The aim is to become more adept at a literal mood. On the other hand, I have not avoided Academic  terms that I bring within myself from my own point of view.
The choice for the final version of the photographic material was initially a "case". When I saw the photograph of Photographer Evangelos Koudonas, which is on the cover of the album, I realized that, this is what i want .I want the smallest unit that can personalize my natural engraver as a person and personality.
